ABSTRACT OBSERVATION APPLICATION PROCEDURE WASH HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER CONTACT WITH PATIENT NURSING STUDENTS IN BANDUNG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL Perez T. Youwe NIM: 1751069 Hand hygiene is an activity of cleaning hands using soap and water (handwash) or cleaning hands using alcohol (handrub), to reduce and prevent microorganisms from developing in the hand. The purpose of this study was to observe the application of hand washing procedures before and after taking nursing actions to nursing students at the Bandung Advent Hospital. The method used in this study is a qualitative method in the form of observations involving 100 UNAI Nursing Students who meet the sample criteria. Data collection using observation sheets. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The results of this study found that the application of hand washing procedures to UNAI nursing students before taking nursing action at Advent Bandung Hospital was as much as 5,7% in the very low category and the application of hand washing procedures to UNAI nursing students after taking nursing actions at Advent Bandung Hospital, which is as much as 24% is very low. For the next researcher the results of this study are expected to be developed by conducting research on the factors that influence the application of hand washing before and after nursing actions.
