HUBUNGAN PERILAKU BULLYING TERHADAP KONSEP DIRI SISWA SMP NEGERI 1 PARONGPONG

ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP BULLYING BEHAVIOR TO SELFCONCEPT STUDENTS SMP NEGERI 1 PARONGPONG Lovelin Sabathiny Situmorang NIM: 1451066 The results of interview of researcher to five seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong acknowledged the behavior of bullying in school. This study aims to know the behavior of bullying and the relationship of bullying behavior to self-concept. The design of this research is descriptive correlation with purposive sampling method. The respondents were 197 students of SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong. Students who are unwilling to attend the research, the sick and absent students are considered to be undecided so that the researcher conducts the study to 160 students of SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong. The data collected in this study used two questionnaires: Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument and PiersHarris Children's Self-Concept Scale, Second Edition. Data analysis method of this research using Product Moment Pearson. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a negative relationship between bullying behavior with self-concept. The higher of the bullying behavior makes self-concept will be lower. Conversely, the lower of the bullying behavior makes the self concept will be higher. The results of this study showed p-value of 0.279 which means p-value > 0.05 so that not enough evidence to reject H0. The correlation coefficient of -0.086 which means there is a negative relationship between bullying behavior and self-concept with very low degree of relationship.
