PENGALAMAN PASIEN DEWASA DENGAN HEMODIALYSIS DI RUMAH SAKIT ADVENT BANDUNG

ABSTRACT THE MATURE PATIENT EXPERIENCE TOWARD THE HEMODIALYSIS AT RUMAH SAKIT ADVENT BANDUNG Henny Hastuti Siregar NIM: 1451011 Hemodialysis patients have faced various challenges, there are several factors that may occur due to less routine in undergoing hemodialysis treatment or not full within a week. These factors are the level of patient knowledge, economic level, patient attitude, age, family support, distance to the centre of hemodialysis, values and beliefs about health, the level of patient illness, the length of time in undergo the hemodialysis, and factors of health personnel involvement. The purpose of this study is to determine the patients’ experience of survival toward the hemodialysis. This study is used qualitative method with phenomenology approach through in-depth interview technique, which was chosen by using snow ball. The result of this study on phenomenology study of the mature patient experience toward the hemodialysis at Rumah Sakit Advent Bandung, finds out 8 categories, there are: cognator, regulator, physiological function change, self-concept change, role function change, interdependence change, self-efficacy development and adaptation. The patient need support to endorse a better-quality life that are: attention, family support is the most important, the work environment support, friends or relatives, and regularly or constancy in undergoing hemodialysis. Patients are advised to control their daily lifestyle, in order to improve their physical health and quality of life to survive longer with the support of family. The health service is advised to provide treatment service with a sense of empathy in providing good health service and satisfactory to the hemodialysis patients. Nurse is expected to provide nurture treatment with a holistic and professional approach. Research institution is suggested to continue next research interview, because the researcher still have limited ability with very general knowledge that need to be developed.
