ABSTRACT KNOWLEDGE OF THE BENEFITS OF MINERAL WATER TOWARDS BEHAVIOR OF WATER CONSUMPTION IN STUDENTS OF SMP LAB SCHOOL ADVENT PARONGPONG Chika Margaretha NIM: 1451023 Water and humans are two things that cannot be separated. Humans can survive without food but cannot survive without water, therefore human behavior towards drinking mineral water should be a habit in everyday life. Humans mostly consume water when they feel thirsty and do not pay much attention to drinking water with the amount that suits the needs. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the knowledge about the benefits of drinking mineral water to the behavior of water consumption in Junior High School students of Lab School Advent Parongpong. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach and the data is obtained through questionnaire, the analysis used is the correlation coefficient analysis and hypothesis testing. The population used in this study is the students of SMP Lab School Advent Parongpong which amounts to 56 respondents. The sampling technique is total sampling. The results showed that the level of knowledge of the benefits of water is 87% while the behavior of water consumption is 57%, with the value of p-value 0.002 <0.05 significance of 95%. The result of the research shows that there is a significant correlation between the level of knowledge of the benefits of water to the behavior of water consumption at SMP Lab School Advent Parongpong. Suggestions for subsequent research are expected to be one of the health counseling materials given to the public about the importance of water benefits. Keywords: Knowledge, Behavior, Water
