ABSTRACT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BLOOD DONORS WITH THE ATTRACTION OF ALTRUISM IN NURSING STUDENTS IN INDONESIA UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA Friska Wisada 1751060 The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of blood donors and perceptions of altruism in S1 nursing students at levels 2.3 and 4 at Advent University of Indonesia. The method used is descriptive correlation. The sample used was 76 respondents who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were the blood donor knowledge test and the altruism perception questionnaire. This study found that the blood donor knowledge of S1 nursing students at the level of 2.3, and 4 at 77.06% was interpreted with high knowledge and 66.72% interpreted with sufficient altruism behavior. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between knowledge of blood donors and perceptions of altruism. With a correlation coefficient of 0.073, it means that the level of correlation between the knowledge of blood donors and the perception of altruism is very low. The advice given regarding the results of this study is that this research can be developed with different methods and designs to develop blood donation and perceptions of altruism.
