ABSTRACT HEALTH COUNSELING WITH 10 STEPS THE MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE ON HANDLING FEBRILE SEIZURES IN INFANTS AT THE BANDAR LAMPUNG ADVENTIST HOSPITAL Junawati Sinulingga NIM: 1651102 A febrile seizure is a seizure that occurs due to extracranium process in the absence of neurologic defect and is usually experienced by children due to increasing body temperature or rectal temperature above 38 0 C. Good knowledge of convulsion fever in mothers can reduce the risk of recurring convulsion in children. Fever in children if not treated quickly can affect the increasing in convulsion frequency and can cause death. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge of the mother before and after health counseling about 10 steps of handling convulsion fever in infants at Bandar Lampung Adventist Hospital. Research method used’s experimental with one group pre test- Post test disign with random sampling tecnic approach, by involving 80 mothers with their kids 0- 5 years old. Who experienced febrile seizure which is being treatd at Bandar Lampung adventist Hospital. The knowledge score taken from the results of mother before counseling is 20,75% (low knowledge) and after counseling the score is 83,75%, These results were classified at a very high level of knowledge. P value = 0,00 < 0,05. There is a significant relationship between mother's knowledge level about handling convulsion fever in toodler at Bandar Lampung Advent Hospital 2018.
