ABSTRACT MANAGEMENT OF STRESS ON PRE OPERATION PATIENTS THROUGH GIVING HEALTH EDUCATION IN ADVENTIST HOSPITAL BANDUNG Yanti Sriningsih Manurung NIM: 1251077 Stress can occur in all patients who will undergo surgery, including the patient Who will undergo surgery for the first time. The anxiety they experience is usually associated with all kinds of foreign procedures that the patient must undergo and also the threat to life safety due to all kinds of surgery. The purpose of this study to know the effect of pre-operative health education to decrease stress levels in preoperative patients in RSAB. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experiment design with this research design is one group pretest posttest and sampling is done by accidental sampling method that is 20 people. Data analysis used in this research is by using statistical analysis of dependent / Paired T-test. Based on the result of statistic analysis, most of respondent before given by health education have severe stress that is 4 people (20%), while light stress 9 people (45%) and moderate stress are 7 people (35%) After giving education Health of patients who are experiencing stress while 15 people did not experience stress as much as 15 people (75%). There is a significant influence between anxiety levels before and after being given health education in preoperative patients with p value = 0,000 <α (0.05) . The recommendation that can be given is that the nurse can carry out continuous health education on every patient to be performed surgery. Keywords: anxiety level, health education, hernia surgery
