ABSTRACT STUDENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WARM WATER COMPRESS AS A MEAN TO REDUCE DYSMENORRHEA BEFORE AND AFTERSTORYat JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 4 CISARUA WEST BANDUNG LENCI BELLA THYSEN NIM: 1651057 Dysmenorrhea is a problem for women and some women do not know how to handle it. The results of the study Merdianita, Anugraheni, Wahyuningsih (2013: 7) based on interviews, the data there are 33 women who experience dysmenorrhea where 17 women took medicine to relieve the pain, 15 women only rested and 1 woman lisened to music. This study aims to determine the extent to of students' knowledge about warm water compresses as a mean to reduce dysmenorrhea. This research was conducted at Junior High School 4 Cisarua, West Bandung on November 24th, 2017. The research design used in this research is pre-post design test in one group. The population of class 8th Junior High School 4 Cisarua, the sample use a total sampling of 53 people. Data were collected using tests consisting of 18 questions. The collected data is then processed by using the formula of percentage and hypothesis test with t-test. The results showed that the knowledge of warm water compresses as a mean to reduce dysmenorrhea before health counseling was low and the knowledge after counseling is high. The result of t-test shows that there is a significant difference between the knowledge of warm water compresses as a mean to reduce dysmenorrhea before and after health counseling in Junior High School 4 Cisarua with t-count 15,15 at 95% or α = 0,05 confidence level.
