ABSTRACT THE DIFFERENCE OF PAIN LEVEL IN THE USE OF WET COLD AND DRY COLD COMPRESS BEFORE INTRACUTANEOUS INJECTION Nama: Febri Adriana Nabuasa NIM: 1451029 Nurses are responsible for pain management. One of the management of pain in injection is the provision of cold dry compresses. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of cold compresses on the intensity of intracutaneous injection pain in nursing students of level 1 at Advent Indonesia University. The method used in this research is pre experiment with Posttest-Only Control Design. Sample used in this research is all of nursing student of SI level I which is chosen with total sampling. The instrument used to measure the scale of pain is the Numeric Rating Pain Score. The results showed that the average level of pain in the group given dry dry compresses averaged 4.89 while the wet cold compress was 7.89, so the independent T test showed that (P ≤ .05). so it was concluded that there was a significant difference in the level of intracutaneous injection pain in the group given a cold wet compress and a cold dry compress. Suggestions that can be given to the Nursing and Nursing Schools, so that the results of the research can be used as additional knowledge about evidence-based virginity intervention regarding the use of cold or dry wet compresses in the management of intracutan injection pain.
