ABSTRACT FACTORS CAUSE OF SMOKING BEHAVIOR ON MEN AT DESA CIHANJUANG KABUPATEN BANDUNG BARAT George Aritonang NIM: 1351021 Smoking behavior is often found in various places or public facilities. Notice in cigarette packaging about the consequences of smoking a cigarette is not ignored by the smokers because it has formed the behavior of smoking. It is characterized that in Indonesia ranked first in the world number of men smokers over the age of 15 years. Cigarettes are additives that are burned and inhaled in the form of cylinders and can cause addiction. Many factors that can trigger a person into the behavior of smokers include parents, friends, personal and advertising. Type of smokers categorized into three groups of light smokers who smoked cigarettes under 5 cigarettes per day, smokers were smoking cigarettes between 5- 14 cigarettes per day and heavy smokers who smoke cigarettes more than 15 sticks per day. The proposed research design is quantitative descriptive ie the exposure of research results in the form of numbers and calculations into a conclusion that can be understood and accounted for. Using inferential statistical methods are statistics used to analyze sample data and the results will be generalized to populations where samples are taken. The result of research is the most dominant factor is self factor equal to 68.3%, and less dominant factor is ad factor that is equal to 4,4%. The rest of the parents factor of 9.4% and friend factor of 17.7%. Keywords: smoking behavior, men
