ABSTRACT THE BENEFIT OF EXTRACT AVOCADO LEAVES (Persea Americana Mill) TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE IN HYPERTENSION STAGE 1 Mawar Sovia Maretty Siagian NIM: 1651080 Avocado leaves (Persea Americana Mill) is an alternative natural medicine that is easily obtained by the community. The results of phytochemical tests conducted in previous studies showed avocado leaves contain flavonoids. This study aims to know the average of blood pressure before and after given the extract boild avocado leaves. Substances contained in the leaves of avocado is as peluruh urine (diuretics), anti-inflammatory (anti-inflammatory) and pain relievers (analgesic). The research method used was pre-experimental by using one pretest-postest design method. The population used is adult women aged 20-45 years of patients with stage 1 hypertension. The sample used in this study were 20 adult women with hypertension in RW 14 Desa Karyawangi by purposive sampling. Each respondent, drinking 5 grams avocado leaf stew in 200 cc was given for 5 days. The results of the research on mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after therapy using paired t-test statistic showed significant decrease (α <.05). Can be concluded 5 grams of avocado decoction that is drunk for 5 days can lower blood pressure in adult women stage of hypertension 1. From this study is expected the community can utilize the decoction of avocado leaves to lower blood pressure. Keywords: Extract Avocado Leaves, Sistolic and Diastolic, Hipertension
