ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF THE YOUNGER GENERATION OF THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST WITHIN THE TERRITORY IV OF JAKARTA CONFERENCE CONCERNING THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF GOD’S TEACHING IN PSALM 78: 5-8 Researcher Name : Ermanson Panjaitan Name and Title : Science of Philosophy Supervisor : DR. Edison Panjaitan. MH. SC End Date : 14 May 2017 The young people in general has a growth entity whitin their physical, mental, and spiritual realms. They have special characteristic, influenced by gender differences, social status, privacy and affected by the surrounding environment. This is a period in human life when one is building his her own career and future. It is a period of open the door opportunity to try new things, to explore and communicate intensively with the young people around them, especially of their own peers. It is from there that young men and women can achive more self-awareness (including their potential, talents and discover their weaknesses), and thus build their self-identity based and knowledge and environment. Fisrt of all, the purpose of this study is to determine the influence of God in their lives which eventually will develop the character of the young people. Second is to know how the young people develop their concept of gad which affecttheir personal spirituality, ministry and church worship. Third is to know the influence of their understanding of God and the blessings that they receive as a result of the total dependence upon God in their daily lives. Fourth is to know the influence of their understanding of God for the identity of Christian generation and as the people of God today. The research method used in this thesis is quatitative research. The approach is explanatory by using a survey through questionnaires. Quantitative reseach is a study conducted by measuring instrument using objective and standart instruments which meet the standarts of validity and high reliability, followed by statistical analysis, so that the result can give meaning. The research was conducted at the Seventh-Day Adventist local churches around the Fourth Region Of Jakarta Conferene. There were about 335 church members in this distric. The research was conducted between the month of march till April 2017. The researcher will prepare and validate the instrument, distribute and gather the questionnaries, then processing and calculating the data. Monitoring the data research activities and analysis. Finally the final analysis will be made and submit the final report to the university. The Number of the respondent who have filled the quentionnaires from question number 1 to 20 were162. As for percentages of Bojong Menteng Church, 18% from Kemang Pratama,18% from Jakasampurna, 9% from Bukit Sion, 6% from Galactic and 16% from toumotou congregation. Analysis is needed in order to find out whether the analyzed data can be tasted and continued. A number of technique analysis data requires the analysis test. Varian analysis indicated that datal that comes from the population that is normally distributed and the groups that are being compare are homogenous. Tha varian analysis requires tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistic. Recommendations were made as following: First, Seminars and sermon must be given to the young people about understanding God’s Teachings on Psalm78:5-8. Second, for pastor to conduct more Bible studies to the young people in their respective churches though they have been Baptized for fortify their spirituality. Third, to recommend to the youth Director of Jakarta conference to conduct more spiritual retreats for young people on Region IV so that they will develop a better concept and understanding of God’s purposes in their lives.
