ABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF THE FAMILY WORSHIP TO THE BOOK OF HEBREWS 10: 22-25 AND IMPLEMENTATION AFFECTING THE SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND EVANGELISM OF CHURCH MEMBERS IN SOUTH OF MEDAN DISTRICT Researcher Name: Rudi Anjaya Purba Name and Title : M.Fil Supervisor : Dr. B.D. Nainggolan, MPS End Date : 10 May 2017 In this study, researchers describe in chapter one is the problem to be investigated: The concept of family worship based on Hebrews 10: 22- 25 today is poorly understood and applied, seen from not yet fully applying the concept of religious worship in daily life, members of the congregation have not performed regular family worship, worship has not yet become a culture of life, Less paying attention to taking time reading the Bible, praying, and offering sacrifices of praise and gratitude still the time of morning and evening family worship The state of the percentage of family worship in the North Sumatera Region, of the 16,201 Sabbath School membership, which carries out a family worship of 8,573 people, means that only 53% of people do family worship. For the district of South Medan from the Sabbath school work unit record, which carries out regular family worship only about 54 percent. Yet this worship will affect spiritual growth and evangelism. In chapter one the author identifies the problem as follows: 1. Some members of the congregation have not yet understood the concept of family worship according to Hebrews 10: 22-25. 2. Some members of the congregation have not applied the concept of worship in Hebrews 10: 22-25. 3. Some members of the congregation are not yet aware of the influence of family worship on spiritual growth. 4. Some members of the congregation are not yet aware of the influence of family worship on evangelism. The purpose of this research will be Firstly, Understanding the correct concept of worship in the family based on Hebrews 10: 22-25 that can increase spiritual growth and evangelism. Second, Implement religious concept promote spiritual growth and evangelism. Third, It is hoped that the results of this study will provide input and motivation to members of the congregation and have a positive impact on spiritual growth and evangelism. Fourth, this research is also one of the efforts to make every member better understand and apply the correct concept of worship which becomes an important need in the spiritual life of Seventh-day Adventist Church of South Medan District. Fifth, To complete the demands of the postgraduate program to obtain S2 degree. In chapter two describes the theories that deal with Hebrews 10: 22-25 and to find a framework for the basics of research. Theorists' view, the time of writing, and the outline, (2) Theoretical, the definition of family worship, and the influence of family worship (3) the Hebrew spiritual contents, (4) the exegesis Hebrews, (5) The meaning and purpose of evangelism (5) The influence of worship on evangelism, and ending the framework of thinking and submission of hypotheses. In Chapter three is the method of writing or formulation for the steps in the study. The research method used by writer is library data and field data, field data made through descriptive method and analysis. Data collection in the field was conducted in the first way, distributing questionnaires. Questionnaires were distributed to members of the congregation in the district of South Medan. Second, reviewing the literature to get ideas and information on the input of books and other literature from several libraries. Statistical analysis using Anova. Analysis is needed to determine whether data analysis for testing can proceed or not. Some data analysis techniques require test requirements analysis. Variant analysis requires that data come from normally distributed populations and groups that are homogeneous. Variance analysis requires validity, reliability, normality, linearity, hypothesis and descriptive statistics. The population of this study are the congregation of Elisa Simpang Limun, the Exemplary community, the congregation of Bukit Sion Bromo and the Jermal Trusting Society composed of 197 adult members of the congregation of Elisa Simpang Limun, 92 adult members of the congregation of Teladan, 36 adult members of the congregation at Bukit Sion Bromo and 18 adult members of the Community of Believers Jermal, bringing the total population to 343 adult members of the congregation. The nature of the population used is homogeneous population, because the research is done on those who are active in their work, which is approximately 16-60 years old. The variables in this study is the analysis of X1 is the understanding of the concept of worship in the family, X2 is the application of concept family worship , X3 is the influence of worship on spiritual growth, X4 is the effect on evangelism, Y: The concept of worship in the family based on Hebrews 10: 22-25. Chapter 4 describes the results of the research that has been elaborated Hypothesis (Ha) accepted that there is a relationship between the concept of worship in the family according to Hebrews 10: 22-25 and its application to members of the congregation in the district of South Medan that gives influence to spiritual growth and spirit of evangelism percentage By 98.1%. Respondents answer each revelation on understanding the concept of religious worship in the family, giving score answers to the questionnaire value of 4.56. The statement on the variables of worship influence on spiritual growth, giving answers to the questionnaire of 4.40. In the variable of influence of worship to evangelism, give answer to questioner equal to 4.34. The statement on the variable application of concepts based on Hebrews 10: 22-25 by members of the South Medan district congregation, gave answers to the questionnaire of 3.93. In Chapter five it contains conclusions, implications and suggestions. The conclusion of this research is; First, members of the congregation believe that in worship before God should be with a sincere heart, this shows that members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of South Medan District strongly agree with the concept of worship according to Hebrews 10: 22-25. Second, members of the congregation have not fully worshiped by loving and caring for the needs of others, they assume that worship has not yet become a living culture. Third, worship greatly affects the growth of love for happiness in the home and this is the influence of family worship on the spiritual growth of members of the church. Fourth, praise songs in worship motivate members of the congregation to witness the love of Christ to others and this is what causes the influence of family worship on evangelism in the congregation. The implication of this study is that worship contains the element of worship and total surrender to God. In church circles today it can not be denied that worship merely becomes a routine to come worship. The fellowship in family worship is the way to get the blessing from God. If the Christian withdraws from that obligation, he opens the door to sin and destruction. Suggestions on this research is that each member should better understand and apply the correct concept of worship that becomes an important need in the spiritual life of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of South Medan District. Attitudes in worship should glorify God, attention is paid to the family environment. There should be less performances and pretended attitudes about worldly courtesy, and more gentle and Christian love, joy and hospitality among household members should be more.
