XMLABSTRACT Thesis Title : ANALYSIS OF THE MAINTENANCE OF A SHEPHERD AGAINST THE SHEPHERDING AND CARE OF MEMBERS OF THE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH OF THE WESTERN SERAM REGION TWO KAIRATU MALUKU BASED ON PHILOSOPHY JOHN 21: 15-19 Researcher Name : Joungky Lawalata Name and Title : Magister Filsafat (M.Fil) Supervisor : Pdt. Dr. B.D. Nainggolan. M.P.S End Date : ____April 2018 One of the most important duties and responsibilities of the Great Shepherd to His disciples before He was lifted up to Heaven was nearly two thousand years ago: The great commandment commanded by his followers to "shepherd the sheep. A shepherd often forgets his responsibility that he is a caretaker. They are no longer serving because of the call of heaven but a call that merely satisfies the demands. It is no longer on the goal of salvation but only seeking popularity or a mere demonstration, so that they no longer care for the people themselves as the sheep they should bring to the Savior. When viewed from the problems that occurred in Old Testament times, then it is also happening today and it happened in the District of West Seram two Kairatu Daerah Maluku Mission namely "the shepherd likes to graze himself rather than shepherd the people served" means: the shepherd is more preoccupied with his own busyness and self-interest than the members of the Church (Ezek 34: 8). If the church is willing to empower the maximum potential growth of the shepherd, it definitely needs a shepherd who has very strong qualities as a leader Ellen G. White says: "If we love Christ, we will be willing to live for Him." Ellen G. White said: "Hard work will be light. Because of Him we will always want to suffer, work and sacrifice. " The purpose of this study is firstly to understand the correct concept of care and shepherding based on John 21: 15-19 which can promote spiritual growth and evangelism. Secondly, to provide input and motivation to pastors, church elders, all members of the congregation to have a spirit of nurturing and shepherding because it is very influential and has a positive impact on spiritual growth and evangelism. Third, to apply a life in harmony with care and grazing in order to promote spiritual growth and evangelism. Fourth, for each member of the congregation to better understand the concept of nurture and shepherding that can be applied as a pattern of life that can affect the spirituality and evangelization of the churches that existed in the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Seram Barat Region two Kairatu. Fifth, in order to complete the demands of the Adventist University Postgraduate program to obtain a Master degree. The description of the theoretical base is first, the background of John's Gospel. Second, the background of the Gospel of John Chapter 21: The Gospel of John 21: 15-19; The Meaning of Three Questions of Jesus; The Purpose of Peter's Three Answers. Third, Theme or Purpose. Fourth, the General Review of Love: Eros; Storge; Phileo: Definition of Phileo; Expert Opinions on Phileo; Phileo's Features: You’re Nearest Friend, Looking at the Status. Fifth, the method of the Shepherd in the care of the Members of the Church: the Good Shepherd; Characteristics of the Good Shepherd: Entering through the Door, Loving the Great Shepherd: Having a Personal Relationship with Christ, Good Shepherd for His Sheep, Loving the Sheep, Sympathy and Empathy, Rendering His Sacrifice to His Sheep, Visiting Routinely. Sixth framework of Thought: Analysis of the Maintenance of a Good Shepherd Against Pastoral Care and Maintenance of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Member of the Western Seram District two Kairatu Based on John 21: 15-19. Seventh, the hypothesis. His research location is in West Seram area of West Saharan two Kairatu Maluku at the time of serving as pastor of the congregation in the region. The study was conducted in the following way: This study began when the author did the home-home treatment of members of the congregation who are still actively coming to the church by searching for accurate information and also to the homes of members who are not active to the church. The number of respondents who have filled out the questionnaire are as many as 153 people with a matter of statements as much as 45 items. Have a profile of respondents such as gender, age, occupation, and function in the congregation, status, status in the congregation, education and origin of the congregation. The variables studied are Phileo's Love, Agape Love and Concept of Maintenance and Shepherding. The conclusions of this study are first, members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the two Seram Kairatu territories for maintenance and shepherding through Phileo's love based on John 21: 15-19 which can increase spiritual growth by 3.47. The members of the congregation hesitated about the life of the shepherd must be in line with the love of Phileo and the words of the shepherd must be based on Phileo's love. The congregation agrees and realizes that Phileo is the love of brotherhood or friendship in social relationships. Second, members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the two Seram Kairatu territories for nurturing and shepherding through Agape love based on John 21: 15-19 which can increase spiritual growth by 4.34. The members of the congregation strongly agreed that God preserves and shepherds His people with agape love. Thirdly, the extent to which the application of members of the Seventh-day Advent Church Church of the two Seram Kairatu territories to care and shepherding is based on John 21: 15-19 which can increase spiritual growth by 4.23. The Church members agree that the Pastor is good at teaching the Word of God and the Shepherd likes to pray and read the Word of God. The suggestion of this study is that members of the congregation can understand the correct concepts of care and shepherding according to John 21: 15-19 which can promote spiritual growth and evangelism. Pastors, elders of the church, all members of the congregation must possess the spirit of care and shepherding because it is very influential and has a positive impact on spiritual growth and evangelism. Members of the congregation are required to apply life in harmony with care and grazing in order to promote spiritual growth and evangelism. The implication of this research is that a shepherd often forgets his responsibility that he is a caretaker. They are no longer serving because of the call of heaven but a call that merely satisfies the demands. It is no longer on the goal of salvation but only seeking popularity or a mere demonstration, so that they no longer care for the people themselves as the sheep they should bring to the Savior. A good shepherd, must know his sheep, and guide his green sheep, so that his sheep eat fully, that is by diligent reading the Bible, diligently come in fellowship / worship at home, in church and even at other spiritual fellowship places.
