ABSTRACT OIL EXTRACTION FROM SAGU CATERPILLARS (RHYNCHOPHORUS FERRUGINEUS) ANALYSIS WITH HEATING USING MICRO WAVE AND THE EFFECT OF HEATING LOW ON FATTY ACID CONTENT Raksa Alam Pratama Nim: 154101 In this study, extracted miyak from sago worms. The extraction process is done by heating the sago caterpillars using microwaves. N-hexana is used as a solvent. Three different heating times have been used, namely: 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes. The free fatty acid (FFA) content of each oil produced from the three types of heating has been investigated using its FTIR data. From the results obtained show that all oil produced contains FFA. The amount of FFA content (qualitatively) that each oil has varies. The highest FFA is produced by oil extracted from the sago caterpillar which is heated in a span of 10 minutes.
