ABSTRACT UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK BUAH TERONG GELATIK HIJAU (Solanum melongena L.) DENGAN METODE 1,1-DIFENIL-2-PIKRILHIDRAZIL (DPPH) Helen Yanti Nim: 1041004 Antioxidants are substances that the body needs to neutralize and prevent damage caused by free radicals. This study was conducted to determine the antioxidant activity of Thai green eggplant using DPPH method. Result of chemical compounds screening compounds showed the presence of alkaloid, flavonoid, quinone, phenolic, saponin, steroid, and triterpenoid. The extracts used are ethanol extract, acid fraction, and dichloromethane fraction with dosage concentration of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 ppm. Analysis time of sampel after being mixed with DPPH is 24 hour. Analysis result using ANOVA shows that is p=0,000, which is less than α=0,05. This result shows that variation dosage concentration of ethanolic extract, acidic fraction, and dichloromethane fraction show antioxidant activity. The results of Duncan's multiple range test analysis shows that the concentrations of ethanol extract of 500 and 1000 ppm, acid fraction 500 and 1000 ppm and diklorometane fractions 1000 ppm give the highst influence to the significance of the analysis. Regression analysis showed that increase dosage of the extract is linear to the increase in the antioxidant activity: ethanol extract by 91,40%, acid fraction by 90,10%, and dichloromethane fraction by 98,80%.
