ABSTRACT ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY TESTING OF SHOOT AND STEM OF PURPLE CANTIGI (Vaccinium varigiaefolium) EXTRACTS USING DPPH (1, 1- DIFENIL-2-PICRIHYDRAZIL) METHOD Olvega Sharleen Tanod NIM: 1743006 A study was conducted on the antioxidant activity test of simplicia shoots and stems of Cantigi Ungu (Vaccinium varigiaefolium) extracts using the DPPH (1,1- diphenyl-2-pikrihidrazil) method. Simplicia shoots and stems was macerated using 96% ethanol as solvent. The macerated process was stirred using a rotator shaker. The results of the aqueous extract obtained was concentrated using vacuum rotary evaporator. Testing of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method was divided into 7 concentration variations, namely 12.5 ppm, 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 400 ppm, and 800 ppm. Each sample was reacted with a DPPH solution and then measured using a spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 515. The data obtained were analyzed using Statistical Analysis (ANOVA). The results showed that variations in the concentration of purple cantigi extract gave significant differences. In the multiple-range test, Duncan showed the best antioxidant activity in the purple cantigi extract, at a concentration of 800 ppm. Keywords: Antioxidants, Purple Cantigi, DPPH
