PENGARUH PERBANDINGAN KALSIUM DIGLISEROKSIDA (CA-D) DENGAN METANOL TERHADAP BIODIESEL YANG DIHASILKAN PADA PROSES TRANSESTERIFIKASI MINYAK BIJI KEMIRI (ALEURITES MOLUCCANUS)

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF COMPARISON OF CALCIUM DIGLISEROXIDE (CA-D) WITH METANOL ON BIODIESEL PRODUCED IN THE TRANSESTERIFICATION PROCESS OF CANDLENUT OIL (ALEURITES MOLUCCANUS) The use of homogeneous base catalysts such as KOH or NaOH in the process of making biodiesel has a large cost and has a long process and has the potential to react again with the biodiesel produced. To overcome this problem, a calcium diglyceroxide catalyst is used. Calcium glycerine is synthesized from the reaction of calcium acetate and glycerin. The calcium acetate used comes from CaCO3 contained in egg shells which is reacted with acetic acid while the material used for the synthesis of calcium diglyceroxide is 10 g of calcium acetate (Ca (C2H2O2) 2), 40 ml of H2O, 8 ml of glycerin. Some methanol concentrations are used in the process of transesterification of pecan seed oil with calcium diglyceroxide. The methanol concentration used is 20 ml, 40 ml, 60 ml, 80 ml. The results of the investigation showed that the concentration of 60 ml methanol was the optimal concentration in the biodiesel synthesis process compared to methanol at concentrations of 20 ml, 40 ml and 80 ml. In addition, it was also found that by using calcium glycereroxide 2 g with a ratio of 1:10 methanol it could produce the highest concentration of biodiesel. The results of the experiments were supported by analysis using GC-MS and FTIR on the biodiesel produced. Keywords: Calcium Diglyceroxide, Methanol, Candlenut Oil, Biodiesel.
