ABSTRACT THE USE OF ENGAGE, STUDY AND ACTIVATE (ESA) METHOD THROUGH QUIZIZZ TO ENRICH STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY KNOWLEDGE Grace Harharina Sinuhaji ID: 1621001 Vocabulary is essential in foreign language acquisition because without sufficient knowledge learners cannot understand others or express their own feelings. However, students have problems in learning vocabulary. In order to attract the students’ attention, teacher is required to have an adequate teaching methods. One of the teacher effort to Engage the Students is by applying (ESA) through Quizizz to find out the enhancement of students’ vocabulary knowledge. The study was done at SMPN 10 Cimahi in grade eight. The result of the study showed that the class has enhanced their vocabulary knowledge. In addition, based on student’s response questionnaire, they really like the learning model. The novelty of this research among all the research that has been done especially in Indonesia, this research is the first research that was conducted in West Java which can be seen from related studies conducted in Indonesia Therefore, it can be concluded that Quizizz games are effective methods for teaching vocabulary and also the use of Quizizz can be done by other lecturers, teacher and students to support the 4.0 industrial revolution in the classroom setting as well known the educational technology.
