IMPROVING STUDENT’S ACHIEVEMENT IN WRITING SKILLS THROUGH GROUP INVESTIGATION TECHNIQUE

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to find out the improvement of writing ability between student who were taught by using Group Investigation Technique and those who were taught by using conventional method. This research is entitled. The subject of this research were Grade VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong, Bandung. There were 75 students: 37 students in the experimental group and 38 students in control group. The instrument that the researcher use was writing skills. The calculation of hypothesis testing use t-test. With the significant was 0.05. After careful analysis, the researcher made conclusion that there is significant different in writing skills between those who were taught using group investigation technique and those who were taught using conventional method.
