COMPARING BETWEEN SQ4R AND SQ5R METHOD TOWARDS STUDENTS READING COMPREHENSION AT SMPN 1 PARONGPONG

ABSTRACT This research is entitled " Comparing Between se4R and Se5R Method rowardsStudents' Reading comprehension at SMPN I parongpong ". Some students have difficulties in reading because they do not always understand the decoded words and the sentences meaning. This research was designed to find out the effectiveness of using Se4R and Se5R method in teaching reading. The respondents were grade gE with 35 students as the Se4Rand grade 8F with 35 students as the se5R group.The research started on February at SMpN I Parongpong aad was conducted in ten meetings for each group. This research is experimental researchwich uses quantitative data and statistical form to calculate the data. The instrument of this research is pre-test before the fteatment and post-test after treatment. From the posttest scores the result showed that there is significant difference in reading comprehension between those who were taught using Se4R and those who were taught using se5R method.
