QUESTION AND ANSWER RELATIONSHIP AND READING COMPREHENSION DEVELOPMENT AMONG THE FRESHMEN BUSINESS STUDENTS

ABSTRACT This research is entitled "Question and Answer Relationship and Reading Comprehension Development among the Freshmen Business Student." The research was conducted to answer the question "is there any sigrrificance improvement after they used Question and Answer Relationship reading strategy?" The data were collected through pre-test and post-test, conducted to 28 students and the dda was analyzrd using T-test and SPSS. From the computation ofthe pre test and post test, the results showed that the participants' comprehension achievement was improved tkough QAR strategy and the score gained by the participants showed that there was a significant effect ofQAR straegy. The achievements showed thal mean difference behveen pre-test and post test is 5.3. The t "o,o,t"a = 6.27 >4 *t" = 2.33 with significance level in 0.00. Standard error mean of pre-test is I .434l7and post-testis 1.46675 The researcher hopes that the finding ofpresent snrdy could give some contribution to the improyement on the teaching reading especially for the faculty ofEnglish Education at Universitas Advent Indonesia.
