THE ANALYSIS OF ENRICHING VOCABULARY THROUHG PREFIXES, SUFFIXES AND COMPOUND WORDS BY USING FLIP CARDS OF THE FIRST YEAR BUSINESS STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITAS ADVENT INDONESIA

ABSTRACT This paper is entitled, "The Analysis of Flip Cards Technique on Enriching VocabuIary. " A case study j-s used in order to answer the questions under study. This study involves the freshman students of Business Department of Adventist University of Indones ia-Bandung as the subject of research. The purpose of the study is to find out the effect of flip cards technique on the Englj-sh students enriching vocabulary, the advantages of using flip cards technique and to describe the strength and the weakness of flip cards technj-que based on research result. Based on the experience of some people who have used the flip cards technique said that flip cards is one of the easiest and the simple method in enriching vocabul-aries because this card can be brought anywhere and can be repeated anytime, if we ]ost the words. The writer gave the pre-test and the post-test through matching form test to collect the data. And the data is analyzed by usj-ng T-test in SpSS (Statistical Product for Service Solution ) IN computer. The result was shown that T-counted 19.057 > T-tabl-e 2.685 with the significance Ievel in 0.05 and the degree freedom is 24 (Df N-1). With the comparison of the resul-t of pre and post-test is 528. And this result means that flip cards technique is strong enough l-n enriching vocabu.Iaries .
