SQ4R METHOD AND READING COMPREHENSION DEVELOPMENT AMONG FRESMEN NURSING STUDENTS

ABSTRACT The title of this paper is, "SQ4R Method and Reading Comprehension Development Among Frcshmen Nursing Students". This strdy involves the freshmen of Nurse Deprtment of Universitas Advent Indonesia as the participants of the research. The purpose ofthis study is to enhance reading comprehension through SQaR study method whether there is any significant of using Se4R (survey, question, rea4 recite, record and rcview) method to improve the reading comprehension [n fact, the aspect influenced the participants' reading comprehension improvement is the knowledge about the Se4R method improved rheir reading compreheruion. SQ4R method has improved the participants' reading comprehension. In this study the oppoftunity in reading comprehension is given through SQ4R (survey, questiorl read recite, record, and review) study method to see whether this aspect give a sigrificant effect to the reading comprehension improvement. The result was shown through the score ofpre-test and post-test after the researcher has given treatment to the students, rvhich is analyzed using the T-test in SPSS that is a computer program for statistical computation.
