ABSTRACT THE APPLICATION OF LEARNING MODEL ROUND TABLE AND MAKE A MATCH TO IMPROVE THE STUDENTS MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Evi Ayu Febriana 1322003 This research was a quantitative research that aims to find out whether there was a significant difference in the improvement of problem solving ability of mathematics between students who get cooperative learning model Round Table type and students who get type Make a Match. The sample used is two groups of students at SMPN 1 Parongpong, West Bandung. The first group obtained the Round Table learning model. The second group obtained the Make a Match learning model. The test instrument used is a mathematical problem solving test in the form of a description problem on the subject of Building a Flat Side Room. And non test instrument in the form of questionnaire of student response to learning model. For non-parametric statistical tests Mann Whitney at a significant tariff of 0.05 was used to test the difference of two normalized gain means of mathematical problem solving abilities. The results showed that: (1) Student problem solving ability before obtaining cooperative learning model type Round Table and Make a Match is not different, but after getting treatment of problem solving ability of mathematical student increase. Increased mathematical problem solving ability of students who obtained cooperative learning model type Round Table and Make a Match is in moderate category, (2) There is no significant difference in the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability among students who get Round Table learning model and students who get type Make a Match, (3) Students in groups 1 and group 2 are very fond of the Round Table and Make a Match model.
