ABSTRACT COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL TYPE CO-OP CO-OP AND GROUP TO GROUP EXCHANGE (GGE) TO IMPROVE THE SMP STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICAL CONNECTION ABILITYJUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Angeline Novi Marlina Nim : 1322007 The aim of this research is to improve the SMP (Junior High School) students’ mathematical connection ability. This comparative design study done by using two types of cooperative learning model, that is Co-Op Co-Op and Group to Group Exchange (GGE). The sample in this research are two grade VII classes in SMPN 1 Parongpong, West Bandung. The instrument used are mathematical connection essay test, and students response angket. The result of this study are (1) the improvement of the students’ mathematical connection ability among those who acquire the Co-Op Co-Op or Group to Group Exchange (GGE) cooperative learning categorized as moderate. But, there is no siqnificant difference between the students mathematical connection improvement, between those who acquire the Co-Op Co-Op and Group to Group Exchange (GGE) cooperative learning model. (2) the students who experience the Co-Op Co-Op cooperative learning model really likes the learing strategy, while the students who experience the Group to Group Exchange cooperative learning model feels that the experience ordinary learning strategy.
