ABSTRACT COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE ENHANCEMENT OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICS PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING GROUP INVESTIGATION (GI) TYPE AND LOGAN AVENUE AND PROBLEM SOLVING (LAPS) – HEURISTIC Arranged by: Febi Yolanda Sanaki NIM: 1422006 The mathematics problem solving ability is one of the focus of mathematics learning, which becomes one of the competence that must be developed by learners. This study is a comparative study that aims to compare students’s mathematics problem solving improvement using two different learning models. The samples of this research are two classes in SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung, that is class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 3. The instruments used are problem solving ability tests in essay questions and students response questionnaires. The results of this research are: (1) the student’s mathematics problem solving improvement who were treated using Cooperative Learning types Group Investigation (GI) and Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristic are in medium category. (2) there is a significant difference of the student’s mathematics problem solving ability between students who were treated using Cooperative Learning types Group Investigation (GI) and Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristic. (3) students like to be treated using Cooperative Learning types Group Investigation (GI) and Logan Avenue Problem Solving (LAPS) – Heuristic.
