Thrs paper is entitled, "SQ4R Method and Reading Comgehension
Developnrcnt". And it is an exprimental study that involves the Sophomore
English studens' ofBusiness Departnent of Adventist University oflndonesia -
Bandung was the subject ofthe research
The prrposes of this study was to ftld whether there is a significant
improvement by using SQ4R method on the Business students' and to descn'be the
advantages and the weaknesses of the SQ4R method based on research result'
The people who have used thc SQ4R rrthod said tlnt SQ4R is one of the
simple ways in reading comprehension' becatse by usrng tlus rnethod they could
spend their time nnre efficiently to grasp and storage the mah ideas easily'
The researcher use the pre-test and the post-test as the instrument And the
data is analyzed by using the Ttest in computer'
