ABSTRACT “FAMILY SELF EVALUATION IN CARING FOR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH STROKE” Jesika Enggelina Humau NIM: 1751045 Evaluation is a method for finding data or information. Self is about self or individual which includes physical, mental and spiritual that is owned by the individual himself. If self-care is done effectively, it can help individuals develop their potential. One of the functions of the family is health care to prevent health problems and care for sick family members. Purpose: to determine the description of family self-evaluation in caring for family members with stroke and to find out which category of family self-evaluation is the most dominant and less dominant from the 8 categories : definition of self care, the benefits of self-care bathing, dressing, eating, elimination, mobilization, hygiene. Method: The descriptive analysis research design is quantitative. Sampling using Comvenience Sampling, namely Snowball sampling, amounting to 30 people. Respondent criteria: families who have family members with stroke over 1 year. Retrieval of data using a questionnaire. Conclusion: The results showed that the description of family self-evaluation was in either category with an average or mean percentage value of 82.22% -100%, the most dominant category. Self care benefits and 100% elimination, the less dominant category dressed 82.22%.Suggestions for families to maintain and further improve self-evaluation in an effort to care for family members with strokes so that a good selfevaluation can educate other families who have family members with strokes.
