PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG METODE KANGURU DI KAMPUNG MOKLA RW.013 PARONGPONG BANDUNG BARAT

ABSTRACT THE MOTHER’S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE KANGAROO METHOD IN KAMPUNG MOKLA RW.013 PARONGPONG BANDUNG BARAT RAFITA EPRILIN NENENG NIM: 1151025 The study was backed by the result of interviews with the mother of five researchers in Kampung Mokla RW.013 Parongpong Bandung Barat indicates that the mother did not know about the kangaroo method. The purpose of this research is gain to overview of knowledge about kangaroo mother method in Kampung Mokla RW.013 Parongpong, Bandung Barat. The method use in this study was pre-experimental approach with one group pre-test and post-test design. Population and sample in this research are 30 mothers with productive age 20-35 years old selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire multiple choice consisting of a question according to Silitonga (2013). The result showed the mother’s knowledge about the kangaroo method before the extension is very less (43,33%) and the mother’s knowledge after the extension is good enough (74,83%). The result showed the existence of significant different towards mother’s knowledge about the kangaroo method before and after extension. Research result are expected to add to the knowledge of the mother kangaroo and for the methods of nurses in the community can provide health counselling about the kangaroo method on a group of pregnant women, nursing mother and family group low birth weight (LBW). Suggestion for the next research can be survey of the kangaroo method on LBW. Keywords: Kangaroo Method; Knowledge; Low Birth Weight.
