THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING COLLABORATIVE STRATEGY READING (CSR) TO ENHANCE STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION IN SMP NEGERI 1 CISARUA, BANDUNG
XMLAbstract This study is entitled “The effectiveness of using collaborative strategy reading (CSR) to enhance students’ reading comprehension” was applied to investigate collaborative strategy reading technique on reading comprehension achievement at SMP Negeri 1 Cisarua, Bandung. The participants were grade 8F and grade 8G students. Section F as the control group was taught using the conventional method and section G as the experimental group was taught using collaborative strategy reading (CSR) technique. From the result of this study, the reasearcher found that through collaborative strategy reading technique, the students enhanced their ability in reading comprehension, from the result of t-test it was found that the pValue Sig. (.000) ≤ α (.050). That means, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, the conclusion is there is a significant difference in reading comprehension between those who were taught using Collaborative Strategy Reading (CSR) technique and those who were taught using the conventional method.
