IMPROVING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH COOPERATIVE LEARNING TWO STAY TWO STRAY TECHNIQUE AMONG TENTH GRADE OF SMAN 1 PARONGPONG, BANDUNG

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is significant difference in improving reading comprehension through Two Stay Two Stray technique. This study used quantitative research method and experimental design .The sample of the study were the students of SMAN 1 Parongpong, Bandung Barat in academic year 2014/2015. There were two classes in tenth grade which were divided into the experimental class and controlled class with a total of students 61. The instruments of this research were the reading comprehension test for pre-test and post-test and the reading test was multiple-choice questions with a total number of 50 questions and analyzed by using Anatest V4 formula. The experimental class was given treatment through the Two Stay Two Stray technique, while controlled class was given conventional method. Based on the result of the data there is significant difference in improving students’ reading comprehension between those who were thaught using Two Stay Two Stray Technique and those who were taught using conventional method. From this data the researcher concludes that the use of Two Stay Two Stray Technique can improve students’ reading comprehension.
