USING SCAFFOLDING TECHNIQUE IN THE MULTIMEDIA ASSISTED LEARNING TO ENHANCE STUDENT’S DESCRIPTIVE WRITING

ABSTRACT This study is entitled “Using Scaffolding Technique in The Multimedia Assisted Learning to Enhance Student’s Descriptive Writing Skills”. It was conducted over two months at SMA Negeri 1 Parongpong, West Java. The study used two classes of science program grade XI as samples for the study with the total number of 32 participants for each groups. Grade XI IPA 1 as experimental group and grade XI IPA 2 as control group. This brief study was divided into four steps: giving pilot test, pre-test, treatment, and post-test. This study used Anatest V4 and SPSS 16 in calculating the data. From the data calculated by SPSS 16 for control group, the mean score of gain in pre-test and post-test is 0.292 and for experimental group is 0.750. Based on the analysis it can be conclude that there is a significant difference between those who are taught using scaffolding technique in the multimedia assisted learning and conventional method in enhancing student’s descriptive writing.
