ABSTRACT CORRELATIONAL ANALIYSIS ON STUDENTS’ READING INTEREST AND READING ATTITUDE Ratnasari Sitanggang P1321005 The purpose of this study was to determine the Correlational Analysis on students’ reading interest and reading attitude. Regardless of the stage at which children should learn to read, there are many researchers agree that children should developed awareness of printed letters and words in their surroundings as the start entering a school. The participants of this research were students from Adventist junior high schools in Bandung: Perguruan SMP Advent Cimindi, SMP Advent Setiabudi, SMP advent Naripan, SMP Advent Parongpong. Each participant was given a questionnaire to fill out within 50 minutes. The results shown that there is a significant correlation between reading Interest and reading Attitude of Junior Hight school students of Bandung, where the correlation is = 0.682 while sig = 0.000 which means there is a strong correlation between reading interest and reading attitude. And also, the results show that reading interest and reading attitude is high of Junior Hight school students of Bandung, because of reading interest shows a mean score is = 65.5, while reading attitude shows a mean score is = 69.4. It shows that reading interest and reading attitude of Junior High school students Bandung was highly. Keywords: Reading interest, Reading attitude
