ABSTRACT A COMPARISON STUDY BETWEEN NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) AND THE KNOW-WANT-LEARN (KWL) STRATEGY TO IMPROVE READING COMPREHENSION ICE KRISTINA TAMBA 1321017 The aim of this research paper is to find out if there is any significant difference in improving reading comprehension ability of the students’ between students who were taught using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) and students’ who were taught using Know-Want-Learn (KWL) strategies. In this research the samples were Grade VIII students of Junior High School of SMP N 01 PARONGPONG. With total respondents 77 students. The p- value = 0.218 > α (0.05) means that H0 is accepted. Thus , there is no any significant difference between students who were taught using Numbered Heads Together and students who were taught using Know-Want-Learn strategies in their Reading Comprehension Improvement.
