IMPLEMENTATION OF SEMANTIC MAPPING AND DIGLOT WEAVE TECHNIQUE TO ENHANCE STUDENT’S VOCABULARY KNOWLEDGE
XMLABSTRACT IMPLEMENTATION OF SEMANTIC MAPPING AND DIGLOT WEAVE TECHNIQUE TO ENHANCE STUDENT’S VOCABULARY KNOWLEDGE Olivia Virocky ID: 1421020 Purpose – the purpose of this study is to know whether there is any significant difference in the students’ vocabulary enhancement between those who were taught using Semantic Mapping and those who were taught using Diglot Weave Technique. Design/Methodology - This study used quantitative research method and comparative research design. The instruments of the study were pre-test and posttest. Research Limitation - The total respondent of this study were 41 students’ of Grade X of SMA Perguruan Advent I Jakarta in grade X Science and grade X Social 2. They were divided into 2 groups. The students of grade X Science acquired Diglot Weave Technique while the students of grade X Social 2 acquired Semantic Mapping. Findings - After analyzing the data, the researcher found out that there is significant difference in vocabulary enhancement between students who were taught using Semantic Mapping and students who were taught using Diglot Weave Technique to enhance students’ vocabulary. Students who acquired Diglot Weave Technique got higher gain of score than students who acquired Semantic Mapping.
