A Comparative Study Of Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) and Artworks Techniques to Enhance Senior High School Students’ Ability in Descriptive Writing Fransiska Masta Rotua Silalahi English Major, Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Science, Universitas Advent Indonesia, Bandung ABSTRACT Purpose - The aim of this study is to know whether there is any significant difference in the students’ writing enhancement between those who taught using Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) and those who taught using Artworks Technique. Design/methodology/approach - This study used quantitative research method and comparative design by using pre-test and post-test. Findings - After analyzing the data, the researcher found out that there is significant difference in writing enhancement between students who taught using PPP and students who taught using Artworks Technique to enhance students’ ability in descriptive writing. Students who acquired PPP Technique got higher gain of scores than students who acquired Artworks. Research limitations/implications – The participants of the study were 28 students of Grade X IPS 3 and 28 students from X IPS 5 in SMA Negeri 1 Lembang. They were divided into 2 groups. The students of grade X IPS 3 acquired Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) Technique while the students of grade X IPS 5 acquired Artworks.
