COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN ING NGARSA SUNG TULADHA AND TWO STAY TWO STRAY (TSTS) TOWARD THE ENHANCEMENT OF STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY KNOWLEDGE

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to discover the achievement of students who were taught using Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha and those who were taught using TSTS and to find if there is any significant difference between students who were taught using Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha and students who were taught using TSTS. This is quantitative study with comparative design to know the students’ knowledge on vocaulary test. The research instrument of this study is pre-and-post test. The sample of the study was the students of SMAN 1 Parongpong, Bandung Barat in academic year 2018/2019. There were two classes in eleven grade with a total of 60 students. Based on the result of the data there is achievement in enhancing students’ vocabulary knowledge between those who were though using Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha and those who were taught using TSTS showed by the result of the mean differences from both groups are 39.30 and 39.70. And there is significant difference between Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha and TSTS showed by the result of the mean difference from both groups are 0.000 < 0.05. From this data, the researcher concludes both techniques can enhance students’ vocabulary knowledge. Keywords: Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Two Stay Two Stray, Comparative Learning, Vocabulary Knowledge
