ABSTRACT IMPLEMENTATION OF MURDER COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL AND OPEN - ENDED LEARNING APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY Lilies 1222011 This study aims to analyze (1) the difference in the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability among students who obtain MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Detect, Elaborate, Review) cooperative learning model with students who obtain Open-Ended learning approach (2) The student's response to the MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Detect, Elaborate, Review) cooperative learning model and the Open-Ended learning approach. The samples of this study are the high school students of class X Perguruan Advent 1 Jakarta, majoring in social studies and science. The results showed that (1) the students’ mathematical problem solving were improved, both in the students who are taught using MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Detect, Elaborate, Review) cooperative learning model and those who are taught using Open-Ended learning approach, but the improvement difference was not significant (2) students who obtain MURDER (Mood, Understand, Recall, Detect, Elaborate, Review) cooperative learning model and students who obtain Open-Ended learning approach ended demonstrated an excellent response to the learning strategy they obtained.
