A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ENHANCEMENT USING KAHOOT GAMES AMONG GRADE VII: FEMALE VS MALE
XMLABSTRACT A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ENHANCEMENT USING KAHOOT GAMES AMONG GRADE VII: FEMALE VS MALE Talitha Ariestine Putri ID 1521018 This study intended to find the difference in vocabulary enhancement between students who were taught through kahoot games in female and male group among grade 7 students at SMPN 10 Cimahi. This was a quantitative research with a comparative design using pre-test and post-test. This research comparative was carried out on a sample size 68 grade VII students. The students were assorted into two groups that vocabulary. With those two groups there were 33 female students and 35 male students. Vocabulary tests were administered to both groups by utilizing a pre-test and post-test at two intervals. The pre-test was taken at the beginning of the program before the treatment was given. The post-test was taken two months after the treatment. The content of the lessons learned for female and male students was the same. The findings revealed that there was a significant difference in vocabulary enhancement between students using Kahoot games. The normalized gain score results showed significant enhancement in female and male groups, as both groups increased on the students’ vocabulary. This research furthermore showed that there were positive responses concerning the method applied in enhancement students’ vocabulary. Therefore, it can be concluded that kahoot games are effective methods for teaching vocabulary. Keywords: Kahoot games, vocabulary enhancement
