Antioxidant Activity of Belalai Gajah (Clinacanthus nutans.), Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispa) and Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees.) Leaves Extract Using DPPH (1,1-DIPHENYL-2-PICRYLHYDRAZYL) METHOD Maria Pramesti NIM: 1641009 ABSTRACT A scientific research about an antioxidant activity had been done on Belalai Gajah (Clinacanthus nutans), Keji Beling (Strobilanthes crispa), and Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata Nees.) leaves using DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2- Picrylhydrazyl) method. Simplicias were extracted using methanol, dichloromethane and hexane solvents. The macerated product is then solified using vacuum rotary evaporator. Based on that data, it shows that Belalai Gajah leave extracted with methanol gives the highest redemency (16,319%) and Sambiloto leave extracted with hexane the lowest (0.265%). On the antioxidant test, extracted products were diluted using ethanol and making them into 7 various concentrations which are 12,5, 25,00, 50,00, 100,00, 200,00, 400,00, and 800,00 ppm. The data of antioxidant activity were tested using spectrophotometric at a maximum wavelength of 517 nm. The data gathered were analyzed using 3x3x7 factorial Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that there were significant differences in antioxidant activity based on the type of plants, in the variety of solvents, in the variations in concentration, and in the interaction amongst the three variables, and all with p value of = 0,000. Duncan's multiple range test results showed that Keji Beling leave has the highest antioxidant activity with mean of precentage 38,411, followed by Belalai Gajah (24,242) and Sambiloto (21,237). The result showed that Methanol is the best solvent which give antioxidant activity with mean of precentage 37,502, followed by dichloromethane (24,499) and hexane (21,888). Therefore, it is concluded that Keji Beling leave and Methanol show the highest antioxidant activity.
