THE USE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING (ELL) SOFTWARE TECHNIQUE TO ENHANCE STUDENTS’ LISTENING COMPREHENSION

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to explore whether the use of English Language Learning (ELL) Software technique can enhance students’ listening comprehension. This study used quantitative research method and experimental design. The participants of this study were 65 students grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Parongpong, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. They were divided into two groups who were in class XI MIA 1 as control group and XI MIA 2 as experimental group. These two groups took the same pre-test. The experimental used Tell Me More as a material of ELL software technique and the control group use conventional method, and at the end of the treatment both group took the same post-test. As the result, researcher discovered control group and experimental group had different score in pre-test and post-test. The gain value of the experimental group is higher than the gain value of the control group. Therefore, the conclusion there is a significant difference in listening comprehension enhancement between students who were taught using ELL software technique and those who were taught using conventional method.
